The Futures School (TFS) is a global development ecosystem whose mission is to democratize foresight. Through learning events, professional certification and custom engagements, TFS empowers individuals, institutions, organizations, and governments to adopt foresight as their 21st century operating system.



The world is more complex than ever before, and this means that old ways of developing strategy, managing change and creating innovation are no longer adequate in our landscape of accelerating and exponential change. For this reason, we leverage a holistic framework for thinking and acting on the future called Natural Foresight®.

Natural Foresight® exposes leaders and organizations to an action-based approach to building futures thinking. This framework includes foresight tools such as environmental scanning, assumption and bias modeling and scenario development, but is organized in an adaptive, resilient and transformative approach that has been successfully implemented in large, multinational firms.

Frank W. Spencer IV

Co-Founder and Creative Director

In 2009, Frank founded Kedge – a global foresight, innovation, and strategic design firm which pioneered The Futures School. Throughout his career, Frank has worked  as a leadership coach and developer with entrepreneurs, social communities, networking initiatives, and SMEs, helping them in areas such as development, innovation, and networking. He holds a Master of Arts in Strategic Foresight from Regent University. With a strong background in both business and academic foresight, Frank was the creator and lead instructor of The Futures Institute: Shaping The Future Now at Duke University’s Talent identification Program Institute, teaching students to use Futures Thinking and foresight to develop transformative solutions to grand challenges (2010, 2011). He has worked on Strategic Foresight projects for companies such as Kraft, Mars, Marriott, and The Walt Disney Company. He is a prolific speaker, having delivered presentations to groups and conferences around the globe for over the last 20 years. Frank holds memberships in World Futures Society (WFS) and Association for Professional Futurists (APF).

Yvette Montero Salvatico

Co-Founder and Managing Director

Holding a bachelor’s degree in Finance and an MBA from the University of Florida, Yvette has over 15 years of corporate experience with large, multi-national firms such as Kimberly-Clark and The Walt Disney Company. Before co-founding The Futures School, she led the effort to establish the Future Workforce Insights division at the Walt Disney Company, identifying future workforce trends and leveraging foresight models and techniques to assess potential threats and impacts, emerging ideas, and exciting opportunities for the organization. With membership in organizations such as Society For Human Resource Management (SHRM), Association for Talent Development (ATD), Association for Professional Futurists (APF), and World Futures Society (WFS), Yvette is an experienced and polished speaker, leadership coach, and consultant, addressing large audiences and organizations on topics such as business policy, talent, work, diversity, career management, strategy, innovation, foresight, and Futures Thinking.

Nicole Baker Rosa

Nicole grows and nurtures the diverse relationships within The Futures School ecosystem. With 8+ years of foresight experience, she is a skilled speaker and thought leader in foresight implementation, offering expertise in the tools and processes required for culture change and capacity development. She has previously worked in the higher education sector, specifically in student engagement and course development. Nicole holds a Master of Arts in Interpersonal Communication and Diversity Certificates from the University of Central Florida as well as a Bachelor of Science in Public Relations from the University of Florida. She is a published author in journals such as Organizational Change Management contributing research on generational perceptions in the workplace and communication rules. Nicole holds membership in the Association for Professional Futurists (APF), National Communication Association (NCA), and the Greater Orlando Organization Development Network (GOOD).

Ashley Bowers

Creative Strategist

Ashley leverages her expertise in sustainable design, environmental science and regenerative agriculture to illuminate how foresight champions a holistic approach that empowers organizations, institutions and governments to thrive in a world of exponential uncertainty and complexity. Holding a Masters of Science in Agricultural, Environmental and Sustainability Science from the University of Texas and a Bachelor of Science in Sustainability in the Built Environment from the University of Florida, she is passionate about fostering a spirit of learning, unlearning and relearning among clients and alumni; challenging individuals and groups to dive deep into emerging landscapes of change; and democratizing multi-faceted visions of the future. When Ashley isn’t developing trend research, future-oriented maps or robust scenarios, you will find her expanding the TFS knowledge base through the creation of new content, curriculum and capabilities.

Rebecca Van Rhee

Program Coordinator

As The Futures School Program Coordinator, Rebecca provides our ecosystem with exceptional service to those beginning and continuing their foresight learning journey. Prior to joining the team, she worked as a mathematics educator in Kansas City through Teach for America. She holds a Bachelor’s degree in Environmental Studies and Gender and Women’s Studies from the University of Arizona. While pursuing her education, Rebecca worked in the Office of Student Engagement and Career Development organizing and facilitating workshops. She also served as Program Director for the Students for Sustainability campus group and is most proud of her contribution toward fostering a culture of environmentalism through a series of workshops in the Whetstone Prison. Rebecca is completing her Masters in Education from the University of Missouri, and is excited to combine all of her experiences to organize, communicate, and elevate The Futures School offerings.
